John Adams Middle School State of the Art Studio
Sponsored through a Santa Monica bond measure, modernization and new construction on the John Adams Middle School campus included the creation of a state of the art visual art studio. Construction in the art studio began in August 2011 and was complete in May 2013. The John Adams Middle School project reflects CHPS criteria (Collaborative for High Performance Schools) by including more day light access, improved air quality through natural ventilation, maximized energy efficiency, reduced water use with storm water treatment, and state of the art technology. In addition, an outdoor ceramics studio was implemented for healthier and happier working conditions. The art studio is outfitted with a projector and screen, document camera, DVD player, sound system with a wireless microphone, and seven laptop student computers.
